The R9T is a classic roadster while the R9T Scrambler, as the name suggests, is a Scrambler motorcycle. The latest iteration of these bikes surfaced globally in October last year and motorcycles are reaching our shores via the fully built up (CBU) route, hence the hefty price tag. In its new avatar, the R9T motorcycles have received some design changes and more features as standard.

The motorcycles are powered by a 1,170 cc, air-cooled, twin-cylinder boxer engine, but the powerplant now meets the BS6 emissions criteria. It develops 107 bhp at 7,520 rpm and 116 Nm at 6,000 rpm. This new engine is designed to deliver more torque in the 4,000 rpm - 6,000 rpm range than the previous engine. The German motorcycle manufacturer noted that the new R9T and R9T Scrambler bikes can go from zero to 100 km / h in 3.5 seconds and achieve a top speed of 200 km / h.

In addition, the bike also has more pulling power than its predecessors. BMW introduced the R9T Neo-Classic Roadster for the first time in 2013 and then expanded the R9T range with the Scrambler model. The R9T range includes some other bikes like the Urban G / S Enduro and Pure variants. However, it is uncertain whether those models will soon reach our shores.

Visually, the new R9T and R9T Scrambler bikes are not much different from their predecessors, but receive a new LED headlamp with a new analog instrument cluster in the DRL, LED indicators, and metal cover and bearing BMW logo. As standard, the R9T and R9T Scramblers now get ABS Pro with DBC (Dynamic Brake Control), new shock absorber with travel-dependent damping for better handling, and two riding modes - Rain & Road.
