Caeleb Remel Dressel is an American freestyle and butterfly swimmer who focuses on the sprint events. He currently represents the Cali Condors which is a component of the International Swimming League. He won seven gold medals at the 2017 World Aquatics Championships in Budapest and a record eight medals, including six gold, at the 2019 World Aquatics Championships in Gwangju.Dressel may be a two-time Olympic gold medalist and currently holds the planet records within the 100 meter butterfly (both long course and short course), 50 meter freestyle (short course), and 100 meter individual medley (short course).

Dressel holds the American records in 50-meter and 100-meter freestyle and in 50-meter and 100-meter butterfly . Dressel was born on August 16, 1996, in Green Cove Springs, Florida, the son of Christina and Michael Dressel. he’s the third of 4 children; his three siblings, Tyler, Kaitlyn and Sherridon are all competitive swimmers.Dressel attended Clay highschool in Green Cove Springs, Florida, but trained with the Bolles School Sharks in Jacksonville. He was a collegiate swimmer at the University of Florida starting in 2014, and he graduated in 2018.

At the 2012 us Olympic Trials, Dressel was the youngest male swimmer at 15 and placed 145th within the 50-meter freestyle and tied for 152nd within the 100-meter freestyle. He led off the 200-yard free relay in 19.82, where he became the primary swimmer under 16 years old to interrupt 20 seconds.

On day six, Dressel won the prelims heats of the 100 meter butterfly with a 50.17 breaking the US Open record and Championships record. On an equivalent day within the semifinals, he improved further on his US Open record dropping it to a 49.76, earning Dressel the highest 3 times in history within the event.

In the morning of day seven, Dressel swam a 21.29 within the prelims heats of the 50 meter freestyle, taking first, breaking the Championships record, and advancing to the semifinals. within the evening of day seven, Dressel swam within the final of the 100 meter butterfly and therefore the semifinals of the 50 meter freestyle. within the final of the 100 meter butterfly, Dressel swam a 49.87, winning the ultimate and swimming under 50 seconds for the fifth time.
