The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) councilor within the bribery case. Sources said that the Central Bureau of Investigation has arrested BJP leader and councilor Manoj Mahlawat from Vasant Kunj, New Delhi, within the bribery case.
India Today has come to understand that Manoj Mahlawat had demanded a bribe of Rs 10 lakh from an individual in reference to the development work. The trap was laid for the investigation agency to catch.It is alleged that a builder was constructing illegal construction in Vasant Kunj. The councilor asked for money from him. The builder said that we'll pay the councilor only. Later the builder complained to the CBI and thanks to this he was caught red-handed.
Sources say that Manoj Mahlawat was caught red-handed by the CBI and arrested. Manoj Mahlawat will now be produced in court for custody within the bribery case. Manoj Mahlawat was elected as a councilor in 2017 on a Bharatiya Janata Party ticket from Vasant Kunj in New Delhi .
It is being told that the Central Investigation Agency officials also searched his house in Vasant Kunj, from where he was arrested.In the crackdown against corruption, within the previous couple of months, the Central Bureau of Investigation has arrested several officialdom including officials of the enforcement agency.
