Major General Andrew James Molan, AO, DSC is an Australian politician and former chief within the Australian Army. He has been representing a Liberal Party for brand spanking new South Wales since November 2019. He was previously a senator for brand spanking new South Wales from December 2017 to June 2019. Professional Career

Molan has had an extended and active military career. Regimental postings include 1st Battalion, Rifle Platte Commander in Pacific Islands Regiment (Papua New Guinea); 9th Battalion, Royal Queensland Regiment, as assistant; Rifle Company Second-in-Command and Rifle Company Commander within the 3rd Battalion, Royal Australian Regiment; commandant of 6th Battalion, Royal Australian Regiment; Commander of the first Mechanized Brigade of the Army; And 1st Division Commander and his deployment Joint Force Headquarters.

Molan was the commander of the Australian Defense College, including the Australian soldiers Academy; Australian Command and Staff College; and therefore the Australian Center for Defense and Strategic Studies.

He served as a military attaché in Jakarta as a colonel between 1992 and 1994 and was awarded the Indonesian decoration Bintang Dharma Yudha Narayan in 1995 for this service. Political career: within the 2016 federal election, Molan was the Senate candidate for the Liberal Party for brand spanking new South Wales.
