He was born on July 13, 1972, in Minneapolis. He said himself that his childhood was hard. He was raised by a single mother, and he has said that he has not had any supervision since he was five years old. He said that as a child, he was abused more than once. In ninth grade, he joined the wrestling team at his school, but he quit right away when they told him he had to cut his hair. He soon stopped going to school all together. Because he liked professional wrestling and didn’t have many job options, he worked for free in local wrestling promotions, setting up rings and doing other odd jobs, until he got the chance to wrestle himself.

Sean Waltman Professional Career

American wrestler Sean Michael Waltman is currently under a legends contract with WWE. He is best known for wrestling under the names 1–2–3 Kid and X-Pac for the World Wrestling Federation, Syxx for World Championship Wrestling (WCW), and Syxx-Pac and Sean Waltman for NWA Total Nonstop Action (NWA-TNA).

Waltman started his career in the WWF in 1993. He was a jobber at first, wrestling under different names, until he beat Razor Ramon on Raw and became known as the 1-2-3 Kid. As the 1-2-3 Kid, he won the WWF Tag Team Championship twice. In July 1994, he challenged Bret Hart for the WWF World Heavyweight Championship in what WWE called the third-best match that had ever been shown on Raw. During this time, he was part of a backstage group called The Kliq, which was known for influencing WWF storylines in the 1990s.

During the Monday Night Wars, Waltman left the WWF in 1996 to join Kevin Nash and Scott Hall (formerly known as Razor Ramon) as Syxx in WCW. He held the WCW World Tag Team Championship with them as part of the New World Order (nWo), and he was also the WCW Cruiserweight Champion once. After getting fired from WCW in 1998, he went back to the WWF during the Attitude Era, where he was renamed X-Pac and became a member of D-Generation X (DX). He won the WWF Light Heavyweight Championship and the WWF European Championship twice each, and he and Kane won the WWF Tag Team Championship twice more.

After WCW went out of business in 2001, X-Pac held both the WCW Cruiserweight and WWF Light Heavyweight Championships at the same time during The Invasion. He left the company the following year after a short nWo reunion. After that, he worked for a few promotions on and off, including TNA (where he won the X Division once) and the independent circuit, until he announced his retirement in 2019. In 2022, he went back to the ring.

Waltman has won a dozen titles between WWE, WCW, and TNA, with most of them being cruiserweight and tag team titles. He is the only wrestler to have won the TNA X Division Championship, the WCW Cruiserweight Championship, and the WWF Light Heavyweight Championship.

He was the last WWF Light Heavyweight Champion before the title was retired because he also held the Cruiserweight Championship. WWE says that he is the only wrestler who was a member of both the nWo and DX during their most popular times in the 1990s. He has also been inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame twice. He is the only person to be inducted in 2019 and 2020 as a member of both DX and the nWo.
