History and Importance
On December 20, 2013, the United NationsGeneral Assembly announced March 3 because theUnited Nations World Wildlife Day to boostand celebrate awareness of animals and plants on our planet.In its resolution, the United NationsGeneral Assembly stressed the importance of flora and fauna and reaffirmed the intrinsic value and various contributions of wildlife.
The United Nationsinvolvedthe declaration that World Wildlife Day are going to bededicated to keeping people aware and updated about the changing nature of the planetand therefore theflora and fauna that are constantly threatened by human activities.The UNGA proposal has named the CITES Secretariat because thearchitect for the worldwideobservance of World Wildlife Day.Today, the day has become one amongthe foremostimportant events for wildlife.
